Voices in Paisley 2010 Music Festival
The theme of this year's Arkleston Singers concert is 'The Water is Wide'. It will feature new arrangements of well-known pieces including a European première! Conducted by Ken Paterson, the singers will perform:

  • 'River Songs' - a trio of popular American songs by US composer Gwyneth Walker, being performed here for the first time outside the States
  • 'Summer Nights in the Fjords' - a collection of beautiful Icelandic songs gathered and arranged by John Hearne, who is based in Stonehaven
  • 'Seven Songs of Mary' - told through traditional tunes arranged by John Bell of the Iona Community, these are the thoughts of Mary, a peasant girl with an extraordinary story.
The Arkleston Singers will be accompanied by The Arkleston Chamber Ensemble for an evening of music which mixes the familiar with something new.

Tickets can be purchased here, or by calling 01505 850 344, 01505 352 753 or at the door.
